I have been remiss on updating our family blog, and I am working on improving as we have a lot of exciting events taking place!
There are so many events taking place, I cannot be more than overjoyed with this news. Rex and I have been praying, asking advice, researching looking for something else in our lives to support our family. We had considered many ventures, but nothing seemed to fit or work with our needs.
My dad moved from Palm Springs last year, and in that time it seems as though everything started to fall into place. In the last month there are four opportunities that came to fruition, and rather quickly.
#1 -- My dad and I started a business called Our Family Estates - Estate Liquidators . We have been marketing, investing and promoting this business in which we organize, price and conduct sales for full state properties in need of liquidation. We booked our first sale today and it will take place the first week of August.
#2-- Rex felt very impressed to take on a second job, part time, to help uplift our family financially. He got an early morning stocking job at Lowes, and starts next week.
#3- I shy away from at home business and pyramid style sales companies, which seem like a HUGE deal right now. However, I felt very impressed to take on the duty of selling as a representative of Sass n Frass boutique. I just started this week, and we will see where it takes me, but there itesm are adorable and seem to offer EVERYTHING. Check it out!
#4- This is the most exciting! My dad called me while he was on business in California and told me to call on a property that was for rent on Main street. He said he got a great idea for a store front, and we needed to act fast. I called the number, talked with the owner and my dad and met with her two days later. Come to find out, she is related to us, is really endearing, sweet and ready to rent. We did not have the money right away to hold the property, but she gave it to us anyway, with promise to pay the first week of August. We will be opening a store called Leftover Discount Store . We will be selling clearance antique and collectable items that we have leftover from estate sales, auction items as well as items my dad has leftover from his sales conducted in California.
All of these events took place within this week. Can you say answer to prayers and hard work???
So, life will be extremely busy, and crazy, but it will be amazing!!

Gearin' Up!
Cha cha cha cha changes! Life seems to be flipping things around some more. The change is all in the best way and it will be good. I will be able to go into more detail soon, but I have to wait out for some things to be finalized. It seems to be that the older I get, the more things change lately. Maybe I am just noticing more!
My lesson planning has started and it is going to be a full year! We are actually starting our projects and some things this weekend. It is going to be awesome.

Waiting.....
Waiting for :
Our new washing machine pump to arrive. Only two more days. I have to say, being without a machine machine has been dreadful.
To hear if Rex "officially" gets his new job.. I have NO idea how long that will take, but so far so good.

Day 2
Rex is almost at the48 hour point with not smoking. It is very very tough, but he is working through it.
We celebrated and ended our fasting last night with friends and family at a BBQ. I am so proud of Rex. I know how hard this is and for him to stop "cold turkey" it is amazing!
I am uploading and editing video and photos now of Trenton's Graduation and Last Day Of School. I will post them soon.
We have come to the point now too, that I feel comfortable enough, and are prepared with enough knowledge now to speak of our life changes.
Rex and I and our family are joining are in the process of joining The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. These decisions has been long thought and came about with much studying, question asking, and prayer.
We never thought we would see ourselves where we are today, yet here we are. We have learned and corrected many misconceptions we had about the church. Many stereotypes were corrected, and false accusations about the church overturned as we have studied. The more we learn the more it makes sense and the more right it feels for us.
We know that many will not agree, and heads will shake, but we are happy and we know this is right for us. We have gotten many answers through prayer and listening.
On that note, we are getting ready for a meeting with church members. I will keep posting and updating.

Peace of Mind and Catching Up!
Rex and I have been having many of long talks the past week or so, and have come to the conclusion that our life is headed in an unexpected but right direction. we are truly not looking forward to the reactions it will create but prepared. We all as a family feel so much at peace. It is very very nice!
Congrats to Liz, Mark and their muffin !! They welcomed little K #2 into the family this week! She is beautiful guys! I can't wait to see more pictures of her!
We all have been fighting a horrible cold this week too. It is not fun at all. Trenton was the first to get it so at the dr. office they automatically tested him for swine flu. Geesh. It came back negative. I guess they can't take any chances.
13 more days left of school!! i am so excited. Maybe.... that means an even busier summer though! Oh well. I will just be happy to have my little man home more!
The bathroom remodel is taking longer than expected, but that's remodels for ya. We have the ceiling light and fan up! We bought our new toilet, sink, and insulation this past weekend too. I can not wait until it is done!
I have been scrapbooking like crazy too! I will post some pictures soon of the pages I have done. All I can say is, Ebay and Overstock are THE BEST PLACES to buy scrapbooking items!
Rex and I are both still losing weight every week. It has been nice and we have all been feeling so much better!
Joe is trying to help Benji crawl better. It is so cute !! I am glad they are all getting along , for now!
I think that is all from Bateman Clan Land. Pictures and video to come soon!

Changin'
Just in the past 3 days, life has seemed to change dramatically in the Bateman house! Just some changes that will make all our lives different. I don't like being so cryptic, but this change is something that will probably inflict some dramatic reactions. I am so excited and so happy though!
Evasiveness aside, Ben is starting to crawl, and now is sporting 8 teeth! Geesh kid, craving some steak or something??
Rex and I are still losing weight, a bit slower now but in a healthy manner. I will update our weight loss blog next week, as we are only weighing in bi-weekly.
Trenton is almost done with school. We are getting to go on a field trip Thursday to a Green House, a fiesta on Friday to celebrate Cinco De Mayo, the raffle is ending soon (Trenton has sold over 100 tickets already! ), concerts and Trenton's graduation! May is going to be a busy month!
Not much to report with little man JoJo. He is same old same old. Learning more and more everyday! Oh! He was a sweet heart the other day and came in with a sock filled with quarters! I thought it to be odd...He slammed them down on the desk and said "I want this many tickets for Trenton" (raffle tickets) I asked if he was sure, and that he could buy a few and save the rest, but he argued and said all of it! we counted it out and there was $8 worth! So Joe himself bought 8 tickets. I thought it was really sweet!
That is about all for now. Hope everyone is well!

Change
It seems the past few years have been full of change and development for Rex and me. We have grown a lot, learned a lot, and endured things we never thought we would endure. Seems that these changes are not stopping any time soon. Just with in the last little while, our whole life seems to be turning upside down again. All for the better, this I know, but change is never easy . We have learned from every experience put in front of us and will be sure to learn from everything now. It is funny how things can be put into perspective for you. Simple little actions that can make you realize what life and the people in it mean to you. I look forward to our new adventures and cannot wait to see what God has in store for our life and the people in it.
