June 15th, 2013

Something pretty to look at today.

Today was overall a good day. We are gearing up to start school again. The boys and I started planning out our curriculum, and figuring out what they wanted to learn. Benji is excited to start "kindergarten" this school year. There is a lot to plan and do now with 3 boys in full swing with school. We were going to start tomorrow, but I still have a lot to plan and organize.

We are planning to have  yard sale soon, so that is in the process, and the piles of useless stuff are mounting. I like getting rid of stuff. I am not a fan of "stuff" at all. I am ready to have my house back and not so much "stuff" hanging around.

On the down turn of things today, I am so sick of having animals. I love animals, but I am done with them in my house. After these dogs, we are done having pets until the children are out of the house. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but it is just too much.

I hope tomorrow is emotionally better for me. Some days are harder than others trying to deal with everything life throws at you. But it is all a process. I think part of my poopy mood today has to do with not feeling well. My eye infection is getting better, but it is draining still.

Tomorrow is another day.

4 Years

:: Sniffle:: Sniffle:: My baby is 4 today! It can't be so!! This boy is truly one of a kind! He makes us laugh daily, smiles constantly and has a heart of gold! I just cannot fathom him being so big. He is just an all around wonderful boy who loves his family and makes friends where ever he goes. Ask him his name, and he will always tell you, " I am Benji Jeff Bateman!" He is definitely one of  my three cutest kids!  I will post later tonight pictures from his birthday party last night. The kid had a blast!

Top Parts and Check Up

Top Parts are Pop Tarts in Benji Speak. It took my a while to figure out what he was wanting as he was running around the house asking every person he could find for a Top Part.

Can you guess what Chek up is????

Yep.. ketchup. So I suppose we are in the stage of talking non stop, but I am Benji's personal translator for a while.

He speaks pretty well though, just gets some letters turned around from time to  time

Saturday Morning

This stuff is awesome!! My dad gave it to me while we were on our trip and I cannot get enough! A perfect way to start a Saturday. Especially after the Friday I had. I will break it down :

a large bowl of cereal dumped on the floor
a Thomas the train got dunked in egg nog (yes we already have egg nog)
Notice that I have one week to write a 7 page history paper
I remembered that I forgot important information documented and to have Rex sign two forms for mortgage information. Ughhhh
Kids being EXTREMELY disobedient out of NO WHERE
And the cherry on top for the day.....

Benjamin putting the iTouch in the dogs water bowl....... it is still drying out. Lots of fingers and toes crossed that it still works so I do not have to buy another one!

Other than that, yesterday was great :-)

5 Things I am Grateful For Today

~ * crock pot recipes * Sunday is tomorrow * Hymns *Rex's job * No bake cookies! ~

Benji the Climber and FHE Sign

So, Ben has figured out how to get an ice pop when he wants one. I freaked out the first time I saw him do this!! It still scares me to pieces, but this boy is crafty and has found his way around ALL baby gates.

And this is my fancy new FHE sign that Joselyn made for us as a Sealing present. The Pease family also got us an awesome FHE "Short and Sweet With a Treat" FHE book that comes with great ideas, activities and snack recipes.
 Thank you PEASE FAMILY!

PS- I love out green walls. :-D

Mini Update

We had an ok experience at Kiddie Kandids for Benji's 1st birthday pictures, but now I have 1 year pictures of each boy, all with the same setting. So it is nice. I am bummed that the free 8X10 is no longer totally free. You have to buy a sheet in order to get the free 8X10. Oh well. My picture wall is now fabulous!

Mr. Ben at Tman's soccer game

On a more serious note, the Jerome Middle School has 2 confirmed cases of H1N1 virus. BLEH! It is only a matter of time before it hits the other schools. We are prepared to pull Trenton from school if needed. The schools are well prepared though. They are doing health checks every morning, doubling up on hand washing and sanitizing, canceling all assemblies and field trips, and moving desks farther apart and things like that. I am not too too worried, but prepared. I have tons of home schooling stuff here, we do extra work with Trenton on weekends and after school through a homeschooling program, so I do not think we have much to worry about.
On a funnier note, I highly suggest watching Modern Family on ABC every Wednesday at 8pm. I was laughing so hard I was crying!! It is a GREAT show. Tonight we are also watching Flash forward. I hope it is as good as it looks!!
Trenton's soccer is going well. They only lost by 1 point last week, and I only yelled a little bit. :-D. I am canning spaghetti sauce today, and baking bread, so that should be fun! Canning the sauce will help so much. It should save us a good sum of money. I am really seeing the upside to my garden and creating our food storage! It is great! I am freezing corn and bread today as well.
Let's see, Ben is now RUNNING with his brothers everywhere. He loves being mobile!
We found the boys' Halloween costumes last night. Mario and Luigi!! Rex and I think we might dress up as the same thing, as they have adult size costumes as well, and then we could make Ben a Bobomb. FUN TIMES
I love fall, and I am so glad it is here!!!
