August 12, 2013

I have really been trying to work on myself lately. I have been trying to simplify life, cut out the bad, put in more good. I apologize if I have come across judgmental, or better than everyone, I have not had that intent by any means.

It seems the harder I work on myself, the more that gets thrown at me. I work on pride, and more experiences I have putting myself in situations where I get knocked down a few pegs. I suppose it is like praying for patience.

It has been rewarding in some aspects though. Things are going very well with the boys and homeschooling, and I got a new calling in church, 2nd counselor in the Primary presidency, and spiritual guidance and revelation has been easier.

Come what may, and love it.

Here is Miss Evelyn in all her cuteness! She loves her bath time so very much!

She is just so cute!

We had a small yard sale, all for one reason. So Joe could have a lemonade stand. That boy is a born salesman! He did great. We turned it into a homeschool lesson, and taught him about buying your product, taking out loans, paying interest and making a profit.

Life is very good. Things are going well, the kids are good, Rex's job is good, home life is good.

I got a new calling today. I am very excited to be back in the mix of things again. I was released from my Young Women's Presidency calling in October, and I have been doing the Ward Bulletin since. Today, I was called in as the 2nd counselor for the Primary Presidency. I have never had a calling in Primary before, so I am very excited to take on this calling. I am with a great group of women and a fantastic group of Primary kids.

Moving On

Yesterday was a bitter sweet Sunday. The 10th Ward Young Womens Presidency was all released. I was sad to be released from my wonderful calling and I will miss teaching my girls, but it was time for things to change.

When the Bishop released me, he said they were going to give me a break for a while and then get me going again a while after the baby is born. I honestly do not know what I will do with myself. Rex will be plenty busy though. He was just called into the Elders Quorum presidency as the 2nd counselor. It is time for him to have a super busy calling now :)

The girls are all pretty upset, but I know they will adjust as time goes by.

Honesty

"When we are true to the sacred principles of honesty and integrity, we are true to our faith, and we are true to ourselves."

My lesson for Sunday is on Honesty. Easy, right? WRONG. It is almost too straightforward if you know what I mean. I can go so many directions with this subject. I think I have a good lay out though. I just need an idea for a cute hand out.  I want to use the quote above for it, but I do not know what else. Any ideas??  I might also, or in place of the other quote use this:

"The Lord requires his people to be honest. May we desire with all our hearts to be honest in all our relationships and in all the things that we do. God will help us if we seek the strength that comes form Him. Sweet, then, will be our peace of mind and our lives. Blessed will be those with whom we live and associate. And God will bless and guide us with His loving care." (We Believe in Being Honest, Ensign, Oct. 1990, p. 5)

I was thinking of attaching candy hearts ( If I can find them) to the quote.
Anywho, that is all that is left on my plate for the week. Happy weekend all!

A Buzzzzz With Joy!

I was sustained today as the Beehive Adviser for Young Women. I am very humbled to be called to this group of exceptional ladies. I felt a bit off kilter when I did not even know what my calling totally entailed.  Apparently I am to teach the Young Women's Beehives lesson every Sunday (except the 1st Sunday of the month of course) WOW, was I surprised. I have gotten TONS of ideas and fun lessons to teach though and am looking forward to getting to know a great group of girls. This will be great!!
