12th Day, Christmas Eve, and My Not So Mollly Mormon Moment

Night 12
We've had so much fun and we hope you have too. So on Christmas Eve day, this is our last gift to you, A calendar to look to the 12 months so near and ice cream to use with your 12pack of root beer.

And so we wish you a joyous Noel,
We know that you're hoping our name we will tell.
But our name stays a secret, we just cannot share.
It wouldn't be right, no it wouldn't, so there!
Merry Christmas!

Along with the calendar and root beer, we also joined up with our Bishop and got them a set of much needed bunk beds, a My Little Pony Set for the little girl and a farm play set for the little boy. I really hope they enjoyed our holiday fun! This will be interesting to maneuver and haul the HUGE box that the bunk beds are in while trying to maintain our anonymity. We are calling in reinforcements and lots of helpers so we can move quickly!
Christmas Eve is super busy for us, hence why I am posting now instead of 1am. Rex works until 5pm, we are meeting him in Twin Falls, heading to Walgreens to pick up a picture for Nana, then to Nana and Deb's house to give them their gifts, then onto my mom's house for a quickly hello and presents, then back to Jerome to meet up with the Dickinson's to help us deliver the bunk beds and stuff, (eat dinner at some point) and we still have gifts to deliver to the Pease and Lloyds, presents to wrap for each other, set up the Scavenger hunt for the boys in the morning, stockings to stuff, cookies and carrots to eat (for Santa and reindeer), and then I think I can go to bed. I love Christmas Eve and all the hustle and bustle. Tomorrow we are planning our tasty dinner and having the missionaries over to join us. Ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, green beans, carrots, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, baked beans, pumpkin bread, and pies. Tasty stuff!.
There would be a ribbon salad to join the group of food, but that is where my not so Molly Mormon moment comes into play. I cannot for the life of me make a jello salad. They have never ever turned out. My attempt last night was a mess and very frustrating. Never trust a recipe that has mayo, cream cheese and pineapple in it. what a joke! Maybe next year, right????

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and can travel in safety. This holiday season has flown by, way too fast if you ask me. I will miss the lights, garland and sparkle of it all. I really hate January, and I am trying to find the best outlook of it for the new year ahead.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

11th Day of Christmas

Night 11
Those eleven pipers piping reminds us of our plumber,
To leave him on the doorstep would be a real bummer.
Now make your water piping hot, and fill your cups with care.
We're giving you some hot chocolate we know you'll love to share.

We simply can't believe this game is almost through.
We've had a jolly time bringing these gifts to you.
With only one more night, don't you wish you knew,
Just exactly who we are and why we're doing this for you?

We got them some fru fru hot chocolate and fancy cup sets and chocolate dipped candy canes. I am sad that we are almost done with this. Tomorrow is going to be awesome!! They are getting some great goodies!

10th Day

Night 10
Ten lords a leaping would be an awesome gift,
But they got stuck while jumping through a white snowdrift.
We had to be content, you see,
to watch the popcorn fly.
So we've added a sweet topping to it for you to try.

Tonight will be a popcorn tin and caramel corn as well as a movie for the kidos to watch.

Super busy day today, we are off to the Temple this afternoon and then I am off to mutual to do caroling on a straw covered flat trailer with a bunch of teenage boys and girls. Should be fun!

9th Day

Night 9
Nine ladies dancing would be too big a crowd,
Besides their music is way too loud.
We have for you Christmas songs,
That you can listen to all season long.

Tonight brings a Christmas CD and cookies.

8th Day of Christmas

Night 8
On the eighth day of Christmas, we're busy as a bee.
Eight maids-a-milking, no where do we see.
But there in the barn we spied tasty treats,
Milk, cheese, yogurt and ice cream for some sweets!

Fun night tonight!! Obviously, they got milk string cheese, gogurts, and ice cream bars!

7th Day and Bummer Sunday

Night 7
The 7th day of Christmas and we are half way done,
Remember no peeking or you'll spoil the fun.
On this day of Christmas, how nice it would be,
If seven swans a swimming your family could see.
The pond was quite empty since the swans have gone south,
We only found goldfish to put in your mouth

So, today is goldfish crackers for the family and some other goodies mixed in.
I am really upset that we have to miss church today. Benji was up all night long coughing and hacking, so I sent Rex to work with my car (and all the car seats) and now he seems to be doing some better. I really really wanted and needed to go today, but I guess it is not going to happen. We are going to the Temple on Wednesday though and I know that will be amazing as usual. Sometimes you just really need spiritual nourishment.

6th Day of Christmas

Night 6
Six geese a- laying-- an interesting sight.
One of them squawked and they all took flight.
They left behind eggs and some extra stuff
Please take this recipe, we hope there’s enough!

We left oil, eggs, frosting and a cake mix to make some goodies!

5th Day of Christmas

Night 5
On the fifth day of Christmas with things rather tight,
It's important to us that we all travel light.
Gold rings are too heavy (and so are gold buckles),
So please be content with sweet rings on your knuckles.

Tonight was ring pops and a Christmas ornament. We almost got caught tonight!

Trenton's Part in the Christmas Program

You can't hear him very well, I wa snot "allowed" to get closer to take video, but he did a great job.

4 th Day of Christmas

Night 4
Four calling birds, we can't pay the fare,
For all we have is a purse full of air.
As Christmas approaches, and calls you must make,
Don't use these gold coins or the phone you may break.

Tonight we gave them chocolate gold coins. We also threw in some candy, and a coloring book and a puzzle for fun.

I have found a new hobby of finding new fonts on the internet..... I LOVE IT. I need to stop though. I can;t even remember all that I found !

Merry Christmas!

3rd Day

Night 3
Night 3 arrives, but we are not in France,
And three French hens don't come by chance.
So for your family we have given to thee,
Gift cards to McDonalds to eat French Fries with Glee!

Tonight was a tough one, it was a busy night and a rush to make sure they got their gift. We put some little gifts in the bag for the kidos and candy canes along with a $20.00 gift card for McDonalds. Fun fun fun!

On the Second Day of Christmas

Night 2
Tonight we have turtles & doves coming your way.
Eat all the chocolate you may.
Because in your family you have quite a few,
We've left on your doorstep more than just two.

This glad Christmas season is so full of fun.
We're happy to share with your family, then run.
How grateful we are that you're playing our game.
You'll now find that Christmas won't be the same.

Tonight we took the whole family to drop and run. The boys thought it was great. I really really hope they enjoy all of this. Our family sure did last year and we are this year !

On the First Day of Christmas

Last year we were spoiled and had a family secretly surprise us for 12 nights, with gifts and goodies! So this year we decided to return the favor to another family. We talked with the Bishop and he gave us the names and address of a less fortunate family so we can lift their spirits a bit this holiday season.

Tonight was night 1.

Night 1
Twas the first day of Christmas and all through your house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
'Cept suddenly one little soul did appear,
It is your Christmas friend bringing you holiday cheer.

Tonight calls for a partridge for your pear tree,
But partridges are tough catches, you see.
Now, how 'bout some pears, instead of the bird.
Indeed it tastes good, or so we have heard.

Along with the pears, we thought a tree would be nice.
Put it together only once and not twice.

With tonight and each night that follows, take care to watch for
Small pieces my fellows. Put them up safe and up out of reach,
And by the 12th night you will be pleased as a peach.

Tonight the first night, this sign you have been given,
One ring of your doorbell, not six and not seven,
But from every night hence, one ring of your home
Will signal a gift from your own secret gnome.

Now beware of this warning- your friend will be here,
But you better not look , or he'll disappear,
And then all your gifts that were carefully planned
On some other front porch they will surprisingly land.

We left on their door step two cans of pears, a nativity piece, and a brand new artificial Christmas tree for their family. I hope they enjoy this fun time of year and like the gifts that will be arriving o their doorstep. 11more nights to go!
