The down Side To Owning a Home

Bleh! Grrrr..... Hum Bug!!!

We had our suspicions when we bought the house 9after the inspection of course) that the main floor bathroom might have some issues. Nothing was present at time of inspection, but the sellers had put caulking around the toilet and along the wall next to the toilet. We now know why. The seal needs replaced. Simple yes, but since it has needed to be replaced for probably over a year (the caulking was holding back most of the water leakage) it has leaked into our basement creating mold and sheet rock damage. Sighhh... thank goodness for home owners insurance. We have to pay our deductible first and then we get help from insurance, but its better than nothing! A savings account is there for a reason!! Right? Thankfully we have two bathrooms. The other one is up stairs, which is a pain, but I guess its extra exercise!!
