Yesterday was the funeral for the young mother and her two children. Trenton wanted to go, to say good bye to his best bud, so I decided to take him, but brought along Grammy (Rex's mom) just in case things got a bit too much for the little guy.
It turns out, that my little Trenton is a lot more spiritually aware than I give him credit for. As Grammy and I are crying and grieving, I look at Trenton, who is being so stoic and thoughtful. I asked him if he was okay, and his simple reply was, "Of course I am mommy, why would I be sad? If Zack is happy now, with Heavenly Father, than why should I be sad? It would not be fair to be for me to be sad." My jaw about hit the floor. What a strong grasp he has on the plan of salvation.
He cried a wee bit when the closing prayer was said, but that was it. He even said goodbye to Zack before they lowered the caskets. It was kinda cute, he put his hand on the flowers and said so quietly, "Bye buddy, I'll see ya sometime."
I love my boys!!
