The Center of EVERY Celebration...No More

Why? Why is it that the center to every "happy" or momentous occasion centers around food??? Rex and I got to talking to night and we are getting a little sick of it. Don't get me wrong, a nice holiday meal is always appreciated, but does every occasion deserve a gluttonous rave? We were trying to come up with ideas for activities for the holidays and everything we could think of involved food. Cocoa, candy canes, muffins, cakes, pies, candy, cookies, egg nog, suckers, caramel apples, cider, rice crispy treats, turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, cinnamon rolls, bread .. ect. It is just too much! So, our holiday goal is to come up with new traditions that do not focus all of our attention to stuffing out faces. We determined this was going to be very difficult with the season of eating right upon us.. but it is a risk we are willing to take. The time together and the fun events are what matter most. We will see if we survive.

Again-- forgetting my grateful here. Liz, you are SO Much better at this than I!

You notice that usually the one who is preparing the meal doesn't find it fun at all to spend so much time in the kitchen while the rest of her family is playing games, or watching a movie. Ha ha, Ryan and I are also trying to come up with other stuff to do too! Way to go! Let me know if you do come up with anything fun!
